Chilean startup will export its 3D printed craniofacial implants to Japan
Founded in 2018 by Chileans Ilan Rosenberg and Marcos Skarmeta, arcomedlab is a HealthTech that, based on 3D printing, designed cranio-maxillofacial implants —for the skull and face area— of synthetic bone, for the reconstruction of damaged tissues. To date, the firm operates in Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Argentina and Spain, and is now preparing to export its products to Japan.
Rosenberg, CEO of arcomedlab, comments that the idea of landing in Asia arose after contacting a distributor in Hong Kong (China), with whom they agreed to ship to the Japanese market. Last year they processed export permits and specialized certifications to operate in the health system in that country and this year they can already market their products.
