It is an implant designed by the national startup arcomedlab for a specific pediatric patient. The piece covers 350 cm2 of the head and was fully customized to achieve better aesthetic and functional results. The operation was carried out in the public health system, at the Sótero del Río Hospital.
During the first quarter of this year, a 10-year-old patient successfully received the largest cranial implant in the country. In the operation, 350 cm2 of artificial bone developed in Chile were implanted, having been made through a 3D modeling and printing system. The piece covers a large part of the patient’s head and was provided by the national startup arcomedlab.
